Brigadier Desmond Young OBE MC Author Of Rommel The Desert Fox Book Group Of Items

Small lot of items including rank badges, buttons, medal ribbons & lanyard to Brigadier Desmond Young OBE MC of Kings Royal Rifle Corps who commanded 10th Indian Infantry Brigade during WW2. He was captured in North Africa and met Erwin Rommel and later wrote the famous book Rommel The Desert Fox. This lot also includes his name tag from one of his uniforms.

WW2 KIA Victoria Cross Action Against 12th SS Panzer Division Normandy Medal Group

4037629 Private Thomas Philip Jones of 7th Battalion Norfolk Regiment who was killed on 7th August 1944 during heavy fighting for Caen against 12th SS Panzer Division. Private Jones was part of D Company commanded by David Jamieson who was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions on the 7th of August 1944. Following heavy losses the Battalion and Division were disbanded in the same month.
